Born in St. Petersburg - Russia on 1983, where his parents (from the Republic of Moldova) studied, mother - pianist Margareta CUCIUC, father - choreographer Eugen GÂRNEȚ. Ilian GÂRNEȚ started his musical studies at the "C.Porumbescu" Republican Music School in Chisinau, in the class of renowned teacher of violin Galina BUINOVSCHI. In 2001-2006 he continued his studies at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Chisinau - the violin class of Professor Boris DUBOSARSCHI, where he also completed his master's degree. He is a winner of 26 national and international competitions, most of them winning the 1st or Grand Prix. At two international competitions in Astana-Kazakhstan, in 2006, obtaining the first prize in both, he was nominated by the participants and the members of the jury "Oistrah of Moldova". In 2008 he won one of the most prestigious international competitions "Tibor Varga" in Switzerland (1st Prize and Public Prize). And the III Prize at the most drastic and long-running contest "Queen Elizabeth" in Belgium, in 2009, made it known to the whole world. Following this success, he started a tour in Belgium and numerous international offers. At only 26 years, Ilian Gârneț becomes the youngest holder of the honorary title "Artist of the People" in the Republic of Moldova.
