THE NATIONAL STRING QUARTET was founded in 2012, at the Organ Hall, by members of the National Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova. After the abolition the String Quartet of the RadioTelevision of Moldova in the 1970-80 years, in this area was felt a hollow, the creation of a quartet becoming an imminent necessity.
